EHR Incentive On July 13, 2010, the final rule was released that details how health care providers can demonstrate EHR ‘meaningful use’ to qualify for federal incentive payments that are part of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The earlier you qualify, the larger the incentive payments.

  • Physicians (Pediatricians have special eligibility and payment rules
    • 30% of patients must be Medicaid or needy individuals
    • 20% for Pediatrics
  • Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
  • Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs)
  • Dentists
  • Physician Assistants (PAs) who provide services in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) of rural health clinic (RHC) that is led by a PA
